Senior Java Contractor

We're partnering with a leading consultancy to support a major government initiative. They’re looking for a highly experienced Senior Full Stack Java Engineer to join the team on a long-term contract.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to full stack development on scalable, secure applications
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in an agile setting
• Support the adoption of modern engineering practices including DevSecOps, TDD, and trunk-based development
• Help shape microservice architecture and deployment pipelines
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions

Key Skills:

• 10+ years' experience as a full stack developer
• Strong Java expertise, including frameworks like Spring, Spark, and Javalin
• Microservices architecture and REST APIs
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
• Frontend experience with React and/or Vue
• Familiarity with integration patterns (API Gateway, BFF, Event Streaming)
• Knowledge of data persistence, database technologies, and service mesh
• Strong communication skills and team collaboration in agile environments
